What is an FSA ID?
An FSA ID (Federal Student Aid Identification) is your secure login for accessing U.S. Department of Education online systems, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) at studentaid.gov. It acts as your electronic signature on federal student aid documents and allows you to manage your financial aid information safely.
Why Do You Need an FSA ID?
✅ Identity Verification: Confirms your identity when accessing financial aid records and signing official documents.
✅ Parental Access: Parents of dependent students must create their own FSA ID to sign their child's FAFSA. Each FSA ID must have a unique email address and phone number.
✅ Security & Protection: Never share your FSA ID with anyone, even those helping you with your FAFSA. Sharing your credentials could put your personal and financial information at risk.
